OIHRN workshop: Improving the health of women and girls in India

The workshop aims to:

  • Facilitate networking between researchers, research groups and students, currently working, planning to work or who might be encouraged to work, in the area of “improving the health of women and girls in India”
  • Provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of current research projects and new research ideas focused on three broad topics:
    • From maternal health to non-communicable diseases
    • Using big data to address women’s and girls’ health
    • Empowerment and health

This workshop will be an opportunity to hear from speakers and participants from across disciplines at Oxford, and to network (including a drinks reception at the close of the workshop) with India focussed researchers. We aim to facilitate discussions which may lead to research collaborations/ joint funding applications between India and the UK. We hope that this will be highly relevant in the backdrop of the recent call for MRC Global Challenges Research Foundation Awards and other similar calls which may come up in the future from various funding agencies.

If you are interested in attending the workshop and have not registered yet, please let us know by emailing premjith.cheruvath@georgeinstitute.ox.ac.uk by Friday, 22 July 2016, so that we can make the necessary logistics arrangements. Please feel free to forward this to anyone who might be interested in attending.
